Countersigned is a personal editorial project by Łukasz Ostrowski. It started with curiosity rather than a plan: how economies, technologies and institutions actually work, what the historical record shows, what the numbers behind a public argument really measure. These are questions he has been researching for himself for years — thoroughly, and mostly in private.
Publishing that work costs little extra and may help readers who ask the same questions but lack the time, the tools or the access to pursue them. The tools that make this kind of research faster, large language models among them, are neither equally available nor easy to use well. So Countersigned publishes not only conclusions but the sources, the calculations, the limits of the evidence and the scope of the human review, so that a reader can check the work instead of taking it on trust.
“Drafted by AI. Countersigned by a human.” means disclosed AI involvement and human responsibility for the publication decision. Each article describes the review actually performed.
Countersigned is independent and self-funded by its publisher: no advertising, no sponsorship and no paid placement.
